4 Years of Blogging: From tommys6 to TechyTommy

So, I've been blogging for 4 years! So, let's look back at my blogging history. First, Tommys6 (warning: ads) (stylized as tommys6 sometimes) was launched.

And then "Tommy Blog" was published. Here's the blog post:
Today Is Music Day

Yes, that's the blog post. Here's a screenshot, as of 6/10/22:

So, you know that I wasn't the best at UI (user interface) and UX (user experience) design back when I last updated it. And it kept on getting better and better! In 2018, I posted Topics, Camp Out, Meet Missy, Abbreviations in Email, PBS KIDS Pinkalicious and Peterific, Reading:Starting Your Own Blog, Protected: Letter (I'll show it later in this blog post), New Greeting, Movie Day!, Movie Day Movie and DVD, Class Helpers 2018, The School Story Web, If your computer screen go's sideways, Life's Little Lessons Keynote Live, Target Voteing Winer, Silly Words And Jokes And Rhymes, Earth Day Fun For Your Kids, A FUN Website For Your Kids (All Ages), SC Day, Curious ABOUT Electronics:Things That You Can Order (a competitor to what the Brown County Library was doing in 2018), The Cyber Five On ABC Ya, Days Of The Week Education, Looking For Pinkaperfect Band, Animal Research Form 2019, #1 Thing To Do On The Last Day Of School!, Cool 😎 Lunchpad ðŸ’»ðŸ–¥ðŸ’» (I often used to misspell launchpad as lunchpad), Video (When I Grow Up), Aris Airport School Air Fun (Movie), Library Computers, New Chromebook (has a link to a PDF document that says "I Love My Computer"), Art (#2), Pics of the day, Internet Safety PDF, Internet Safety PDF 2, Coding 1, 2, 3, Useing Loops (another common misspelling), and Coding 5: Blogs (my coding series), How to open app on chrome os useing keys, How to use google tasks, Internet Safety (a blog post this time), How to make a toy as a kid (first 1st grade post), How to Code as a Kid, and See a picture of Luna from Let's go luna. And in 2019, there was only See something cool!, Web pages, Just Drive!, Our new printer, Chrome Music Lab, Search Engines, Coding Apps, Back to School! What is the Wayback Machine?, and finally Alexa Skill Blueprints. And the final update was I have moved. All of these blog posts are on here, alongside the comments and pages, but some are broken. And yes, I have moved is one of those. So some search spiders might get stuck in an infinite loop. And those page titles are with the original typos. But if you want the original experience, you can always go to tommys6.wordpress.com. But then, on September 23, 2019, I moved to this website you are viewing right now! And on June 16, 2020, all the old blog posts and pages (including "I have moved" and "Tommy Blog") were imported from tommys6 to here! And then, TechyTommy Email was introduced. I've never said this on the blog, but the way that TechyTommy Email works is that an IFTTT applet checks for new blog posts every hour (or when you press the check now link), then it sends an email to the Google Group TechyTommy Email (techytommy-email@googlegroups.com, not emailable), then the Google Group sends all the members the email that my IFTTT applet sent. This was all because FeedBurner Email was discontinued. From August 25, 2021 to June 8, 2022, there were no new updates (by updates, I mean published blog posts, I wrote some never published blog posts). But then, on June 9, the long-awaited "My New Reading Device: Kindle Paperwhite" was published! And then, on June 10, I started TechyTommy Email VIP, an invite-only Google Group with the ability to reply to the emails! What's the letter?
To:PTO From:tommys6 (Tommy Steensen)

Hi PTO I Wish You Had Pinkalicious And Peterific Books. And Thank You For Books.

That's the letter! The password on the letter is hssd, but you really only need that if you want to view it on tommys6.wordpress.com. And, the Protected in Protected: Letter isn't here on this blog, it's just Letter, and it's not password-protected on this blog! And I remember making a blog post from the library one time before! But now we are here, and this is the first blog post to be posted to TechyTommy Email VIP! And now, the 1 post weekly or more schedule was introduced! And this history is done!

TechyTommy Phones: IFTTT + Text Messages!

A year ago, I did a blog post on a website called IFTTT! If you want to view that, click here ! But let me quickly explain why this is relevant to phones! Lots of carriers have a way to send text messages through email! This is carrier-specific, so you can't just send it to all phone numbers! For example, Cellcom has yournumber@cellcom.quiktxt.com and U.S Cellular has yournumber@email.uscc.net! (These are carrier emails for TechyTommy Email VIP users.) To use all of these, format your phone number like this: 1234567890! These are called "SMS to email gateways"! But what if your carrier is not listed here? Thankfully, there is a website with 92 carriers in the United States! Just go to email2sms.info  if your carrier isn't in this article! But how does IFTTT work here? While, IFTTT can send emails from your Gmail account! Previously, I was talking about connecting Gmail to Google Calendar, Alexa to Blogger, and Google Calendar to Contacts! But now, we can connect any
